WHY

  • It’s a beautiful picture of dying to our old self and being reborn to new life with Jesus.

  • Recognize you are lost in your thoughts, words, and deeds.  God came to earth in the form of Jesus to pay your penalty and now offers you new life in His Spirit.  If you desire this, you are ready to be baptized.

  • Infant baptism is a beautiful commitment by your family to raise you in the family of faith.  Adult baptism is an opportunity for you to show your commitment to live out your faith.

  • Recognizing your sinful state and asking Jesus to rule over your life “saves” you.  Baptism is a sign, for you and the world, that you are doing just that.

  • Any believer in Jesus can have the privilege to baptize another believer and this can be done anywhere there is water.

  • God’s desire is to bring His Kingdom to earth and we, who are part of his Kingdom, are to encourage others.  When we openly display our faith, we show the power of God to change lives and destroy the lies of the enemy.

  • Being immersed symbolizes our “death” to our old ways and coming out of the water symbolizes our “new life” with Jesus. It’s how Jesus was baptized!

  • No.  As soon as you desire Jesus over your ways, you can be baptized.
